For individuals, businesses, education & not-for-profit organisations by Dr Sarah Maloy
Do you represent a business, charity or other organisation, and would love to spread the sustainability message to your managers, team or service users? Engaging, relatable sustainability talks and workshops can inspire people to make positive changes, including at work.
Hi, I’m Dr Sarah Maloy, owner of Shop Zero and sustainability speaker.
I’m available to book to speak at sustainability events or run sustainability talks and workshops, or as a consultant to businesses who want to up their sustainability performance or develop their sustainability policy.
I started my career with a PhD in sustainability (hence, the Dr title!) and spent many years exploring how to develop an ethical and low-waste supply chain and take a closed-loop approach to procurement. When my children were younger, I qualified as a teacher and picked up many public speaking skills in the process. In 2018, however, my passion for sustainability led me to launch my first pop-up shop with Nottingham Zero Waste Collective and to set up a local repair cafe. As interest snowballed, I went all in and opened Shop Zero, a zero-waste shop in Nottingham’s city centre.
Today, I bring audiences more than 25 years of experience in developing sustainable and ethical business practices, as well as my personal insights into living more sustainably. I regularly speak at sustainability events and give corporate talks.

Corporate talks on sustainability
The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call to action for countries across the world to reduce poverty and inequality and spur economic growth while tackling climate change. We are already well into the “Decade of Action”, an ambitious 10-year time frame within which to change the world for the better by 2030.
Which goals are a priority for your business and why? What actions are you taking to behave more sustainably as a business? What are the big challenges your business faces in terms of sustainability and where can you turn for solutions?
How can you encourage your staff to live more sustainably? Carbon-friendly choices, active travel and ditching plastic waste can all make a difference.
I am available to deliver bespoke sustainability talks and workshops:
For managers covering topics such as sustainable practices in the workplace (and how to support your staff), Sustainable Development Goals, sustainability and ethical practices, low-waste supply chain, closed-loop procurement and more.
For staff members about zero-waste and low-carbon living, being an ethical shopper, eco-friendly gardening and a range of other topics, depending on what they would find helpful.
My style is friendly, accessible, realistic, and solutions-driven. I offer a choice of pre-prepared talks or can develop a talk unique to your organisation.
