A bit of an exclusive!

We are very lucky to have these Cacao nibs which have been roasted by hand in Nottingham by Luisa of the Vegan Chocolate fame.

What’s amazing is that Luisa works directly with the Farmers.  This means they are receiving a living wage. Moreover, they are working on a small scale which means they can also look after their environment where the beans are grown.

Cacao nibs are small pieces of crushed cacao beans — or cocoa beans. As a result, they have a bitter, chocolatey flavour. You’ll love them added to porridge and baking.

The nibs are produced from the beans of the Theobroma cacao tree, also known as the cocoa tree. The beans are dried after harvesting. Then fermented, roasted and cracked. This produces the small, dark nibs.

These nibs contain many minerals, including iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, and copper. And they are said to be a good source of antioxidants.

Contain theobromine which is a mild stimulant (like caffeine).
