About the Artist

Clare Taylor is a freelance artist educator. In 2016 after moving back to Nottinghamshire from Manchester, Clare set up Bus and Bird Arts, a small participatory arts organisation helping audiences find happiness and engagement through creative activity.

Alongside her passion for participatory arts, Clare creates art work in a small garden studio (known affectionately as The Shed of Dreams) and delights in watching the local wildlife from her shed windows. Her practice is multi-disciplinary.

Clare ‘treads lightly’ with her consumption of resources by reusing materials and experimenting with own homemade inks or glazes created from waste products and natural materials. Clare’s “Distilling Rainbows” courses in botanical ink and paper making are very popular with people looking to create art with a more sustainable approach.

This event is part of our Learn Zero programme and will be held in our Basement Learning Space at 42a Friar Lane, NG1 6DQ. (Please note that the workshop space is accessed from the Shop via some steps). We are just 5 minutes from Market Square in the centre of Nottingham, close to the tram and central bus drop-off points.

If you have any access issues, let us know as we’d like to help.

Had an absolutely lovely time making paper!! Clare was super friendly and attentive, everyone at the workshop was very welcoming and learning to make my own paper, and creating my own sheets to take home at the end, was a lot of fun and rewarding.
