Excited to be working with a new-to-us Nottingham business.

Did you know that there is a Ropemaker in Lenton, Nottingham? We are now stocking these beautiful twines and flax that have been wound locally to us. There is proper heritage associated with these items.

There is a soft jute twine that was salvaged from Axminster Carpets (children of the 70s and 80s will remember this iconic brand). The jute was used as the base of the carpet that the wool was woven onto. Jute is a very sustainable crop, fast grown in the region where it should be grown so not using excess water or needing pesticides.

There is also some beautiful undyed linen flax cord. A must for those macrame makers and crafters! Ripe for hand dyeing too.

They two are wound onto carpet bobbins which were going to be burnt when the Axminster carpet factory closed.

Tom from the Lenton works, salvaged them too. So another piece of history there! Tom reckons these bobbins will hold well over 200m of twine. That should keep you going for a while.

We only have a limited number, so get them while you can!
