Description

A bit of an exclusive, we are very lucky to have these Cacao nibs which have been roasted by hand in Nottingham by Luisa of the Vegan Chocolate fame.

What’s amazing is that Luisa works directly with the Farmers which means they are receiving a living wage and are working on a small scale and looking after their environment where the beans are grown.

Cacao nibs are small pieces of crushed cacao beans — or cocoa beans — that have a bitter, chocolatey flavour. They are great added to porridge and baking.

They’re produced from beans derived from the Theobroma cacao tree, also known as the cocoa tree. Cocoa beans are dried after harvesting, then fermented, roasted and cracked to produce small, dark bits — or cocoa nibs.

They contain many minerals, including iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, and copper. And are said to be a good source of antioxidants.

Contain theobromine which is a mild stimulant (like caffeine).
